The Strike Industries Mass Driver Compensator (MDC) represents a quantum leap in compensator design. Current designs have remained largely unchanged since the 1930s. It's time for something revolutionary. The name Mass Driver was inspired by the idea of theoretical mass propulsion engines for space travel. The mass ejection creates an equal and opposite reaction that propels the spacecraft forward. The mass mover compensator is fed by hot gases forced through the barrel after the bullet is fired and acts as a counterbalance system to mitigate mechanical recoil. Barrel-mounted compensators add mass to the piston and increase the moment of inertia of the operating system, which can have a negative effect on the reliable movement of a recoilless gun. By separating the compensator from the working components after ignition, the MDC enables near-normal cycle speeds and reduces recoil mass. The MDC system compensator features a flared bore to reduce breech and keyhole shocks, along with a 2.5mm relief cut on the top of the rear to reduce “drop” and damage to the pistol slide.
